Asylum-seekers & Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA)

Who We Are:

Asylum-seekers & Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) is a civil society organization based in Turkey, operating since 2009. ARSA primarily focuses on providing support and solidarity to refugees and asylum seekers in Turkey and collaborates with various stakeholders such as local authorities, government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations. ARSA’s mission is to advocate for the rights and welfare of refugees and asylum seekers in Turkey, with a strong emphasis on social integration and participation within the community. The organization is involved in a wide range of activities and projects, including legal support, educational programs, cultural and social initiatives, and advocacy efforts. ARSA facilitates access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and legal assistance for refugees through a large volunteer network and partnerships with various organizations. Due to its commitment to these goals, ARSA has received numerous national and international awards. In addition to local and national efforts, ARSA collaborates with academic institutions and researchers to study the living conditions of refugees in Turkey. The organization also engages with the media, participating in interviews to raise awareness about the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers.

Our activities focus on a wide range of areas including protection, education, integration, hygiene, psychosocial support, emergency aid, shelter, livelihood support, and social solidarity. We prioritize initiatives that support the well-being and empowerment of refugee women and girls, including online education programs, scholarships, exam preparation courses, and financial and health aid packages.

Additionally, we work closely with the Turkish Refugee Council and 20 other institutes active in the field of asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants to strengthen support systems and advocate for refugee rights.

Over the past 16 years, ARSA has significantly expanded its reach and impact. We have tripled the number of beneficiaries served annually, with services extending to all over Turkey.
